Janusz Szyrmer is an Economic Policy Expert with over twenty years of experience in emerging markets, international aid management, macro-fiscal policy, public finance, international trade, governance, competitiveness, statistics, and economic/econometric data analysis and modeling. Having served as Project Director (Team Lead, Chief of Party, etc.), Policy Advisor, Research Analyst, and Professor/Lecturer, he has managed development aid projects and advised and trained a wide range of governments.  Published extensively; he authored/co-authored/edited twelve books and monographs as well as many research
papers and project reports, most of which were on the topics related to development economics, post-soviet
transition, regional science and environmental economics, and economic/econometric models.


 Taught courses in economics, international finance and trade, regional/environmental science, statistics and
econometrics, and related disciplines and served as an advisor and supervisor to a large number of M.A. and
Ph.D. theses.


 In 1986-96, he held several senior administrative positions at the University of Pennsylvania.
 In 2012-13, he also served as a Professor of Economics for a Doctoral Program and MBA Program offered by the
Institute of Economics, Polish Academy of Sciences, Warsaw.
